The Coalition is proud to partner with Neighborhood Housing Services of Freeport and the Northern Illinois Center for Nonprofit Excellence to present a BoardSource training, Creating Exceptional Boards. If you are (or desire to be) on the board of a nonprofit or you are the chief executive of a nonprofit, this training is for you!! It will be presented by BoardSource trainer Vernetta Walker at Rockford College on November 18-19th. For more information and/or to register, check out our flyer.

The Homebuyer Advantage Program is in full swing! The Coalition and NHS of Freeport are offering down payment assistance (through a grant from the Illinois Housing Development Authority). See our brochure for more information.
The Rockford Area Affordable Housing Coalition has partnered with NHS of Freeport and eHome America to bring an online homebuyer education program to northern Illinois! If you need to take a homebuyer education class, visit our Education page to learn about your options!
Who We Are
The Rockford Area Affordable Housing Coalition is made up of many different entities involved in promoting affordable housing in the Greater Rockford area. We work primarily in Winnebago, Boone, and Ogle Counties in Northern Illinois, though we have worked with individuals and families from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River and as far south as the St. Louis suburbs.

What We Do
The Coalition provides:
- Education and counseling to current and soon-to-be home owners.
- Employer-assisted housing opportunities for employers throughout the region
- Reverse mortgage counseling for home owners over 62 years of age
