One-on-one counseling designed to prepare you for homeownership. Credit analysis and an action plan to deal with poor credit, budget preparation, home affordability analysis, and recommendations on appropriate mortgage products. The Orientation class is required before making an individual appointment. You will be able to set up your first appointment at the class. You will need to fill out a Personal Profile packet prior to your first appointment. You can download the packet now and bring it with you to the Orientation if you choose.

This counseling service is offered free of charge! A tri-merge credit report (if requested) is $15.

Foreclosure Prevention/Loss Mitigation Counseling

One-on-one counseling designed to help you reach the best possible solution when faced with the loss of your home to foreclosure. There are options available and we can help you understand those options and pursue the best one for your situation. Mediation with your mortgage company is available.

Reverse Mortgage Counseling

Reverse mortgage counseling is required for anyone desiring a reverse mortgage (minimum age: 62). We have an AARP certified reverse mortgage counselor on staff and available for face-to-face or phone counseling as you consider a reverse mortgage.

Employer-Assisted Housing

We work with and support the REACH-Illinois Employer Assisted Housing program. We can help your company set up a downpayment assistance program that will provide tax credits to help offset the cost of the assistance. It also provides up to $5,000 in matching funds to your qualifying employees. This is a comprehensive counseling and education program that is designed to maximize the impact of your downpayment investment in your employees. We will work with your employees to iron out credit issues that can hinder their ability to purchase a home. We also provide the educational classes that have been proven to lower delinquency rates among homeowners, giving your employees the knowledge and skills necessary to keep their homes for the long term.
